Are you a family that loves Nintendo and wants to show off your skills in various Nintendo games? If so, you can enter for a chance to win the Disney Channel presents Nintendo Switch Family Showdown contest and be one of four families to compete in an epic Nintendo Switch showdown. Nintendo Switch Family Showdown will be featured on the Disney Channel and Disney XD, and streamed on the DisneyNOW app this summer.

The Disney Channel presents Nintendo Switch Family Showdown will pit families against each other in a fun and friendly competition. On a colorful Nintendo-themed set, families will compete in a series of challenges in Nintendo Switch games, like searching for collectibles in Super Mario Odyssey, competing in head-to-head matchups in Mario Tennis Aces and participating in dance-offs in Just Dance 2018.

Families can apply for the contest by submitting an original video, up to one minute in length, explaining why they are the ultimate Nintendo fans. Selected families will win a trip to Los Angeles to meet their favorite Disney Channel stars and compete in the Nintendo Switch Family Showdown for a chance to win even more prizes.

Activision Announces All-New “Men In Black” Video Game

It was reported last week that Activision in partnership with Columbia Pictures announced an all-new Men In Black video game, launching as a standalone title to coincide with the global theatrical release of Men In Black III in Spring 2012. True to the spirit of the franchise, the original title will feature action-packed, yet light-hearted gameplay mixed with edge-of-your-seat shooting excitement from the universe’s most elite peacekeeping force.

“The Men In Black franchise is an unbeatable starting point to deliver a genre-bending gaming experience with a level of production value on par with Hollywood,” said David Oxford, Executive Vice President of Activision Publishing, Inc.  Mark Caplan, Vice President of Licensing at Sony Pictures Entertainment, stated, “With Activision bringing the Men In Black universe to life on next-gen consoles for the first time, the Men In Black video game will be both familiar to fans, an exciting beginning for the uninitiated, and revolutionary for the franchise.”

Activision and Marvel’s Latest Spider-Man Video Game “Spider-Man: Edge of Time” Out Now!

In which players take the roles of both Peter Parker’s Amazing Spider-Man and Miguel O’Hara’s Spider-Man 2099 in a harrowing, action-packed adventure, spanning two timelines 100-years apart in order to thwart a cataclysmic future from happening – and the death of Peter Parker.

Playing as the two extremely different personas of Peter Parker and Miguel O’Hara, both heroic web-slingers must urgently work together to correct a timestream gone awry, save each other, and prevent the death of the Amazing Spider-Man. Jeri Ryan, Michael Jai White & Darren Shahlavi to Star in “Mortal Kombat” Live-action Digital Series

It has begun! Warner Premiere announced yesterday that initial casting for their upcoming live-action digital series “Mortal Kombat” has started. Jeri Ryan, (“Star Trek: Voyager”) will reprise her role as “Lieutenant Sonya Blade” from the unofficial fan short. She is accompanied by Michael Jai White (“The Dark Knight”) as “Major Jackson ‘Jax’ Briggs” and Darren Shahlavi (“300”) as “Kano.”

Written by Kevin Tancharoen, Aaron Helbing, and Todd Helbing, and available online this spring from Warner Bros, the “Mortal Kombat” digital series is an anthology of multiple live action shorts.  Each episode will provide never-before-revealed insights into characters featured in the upcoming video game as well as the game’s universe.

Nintendo Brings a New Element to the World of Gaming with 3DS This March

It was announced this week that on March 27, Nintendo will introduce a new portable entertainment system in 3D and without the need for special 3D glasses.“Nintendo 3DS is a category of one – the experience simply doesn’t exist anywhere else,” said Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime. “You have to see Nintendo 3DS to believe it. And it’s like nothing you’ve ever seen before.”

Nintendo 3DS includes two screens. The bottom touch screen makes use of a telescoping stylus that is stored in the unit itself. The top screen displays 3D visuals to the naked eye. Looking at the screen is like peering through a window into a world where characters and objects have true depth. The system also has a 3D Depth Slider that lets players select the level of 3D they enjoy the most. The 3D effect can be ratcheted up to the highest level, scaled back to a more moderate setting or even turned off completely.

A built-in motion sensor and gyro sensor can react to the motion and tilt of the system, so whether players are twisting their systems side to side or moving them up and down, their motion-compatible Nintendo 3DS games respond instantly. Nintendo 3DS can also play Nintendo DS game cards with their original 2D visuals. The system also includes a slot for an SD memory card. To help users get started, every system comes with a 2GB SD memory card (though owners can provide whatever size they like).

During the launch window (between the March 27 launch date and the E3 Expo in early June) more than 30 games will be available to Nintendo 3DS owners. The glasses-free 3D gaming system comes packed with features at a retail price of $249.99 starting March 27.
