TRAILER: The Equalizer 2

Columbia Pictures has released a new Equalizer 2 trailer and it’s even more intense. Denzel Washington is reprising his role as Robert McCall who has settled into a new life as a Lyft driver. That is until someone needs his help, as seen in the trailer.

The sequel finds Robert out for blood in avenging the death of his former colleague and friend played by actress Melissa Leo who made an appearance in the 2014 original movie. While the original movie’s Rotten Tomato score was only 60% and an audience score of 76%, the movie was considered a huge success as it made $192 million worldwide on a budget of only $55 million.

What should be exciting for moviegoers is the supporting cast Ashton Sanders, Bill Pullman, and Pedro Pascal, who many know from Game of Thrones, Kingsman: The Golden Circle, Narcos, and is currently filming Wonder Woman 1984.

The Equalizer 2 comes out on July 20. Check out the trailer below and let me know what you think in the comment section.

Moviegoers can now join AMC Theater’s Stubs A-List program and see up to three movies per week, along with all of the benefits of AMC Stubs Premiere, for just $19.95. The cool part? Members can enjoy all available showtimes*, at all AMC locations in the United States, and in all formats — including IMAX at AMC, Dolby Cinema at AMC, RealD 3D, Prime at AMC and BigD. Plus members can watch movies at AMC at the spur of the moment or can plan ahead days or weeks in advance.

“The overwhelmingly positive response we heard since announcing AMC Stubs A-List last week only reinforces our belief that our guests are very excited about this new AMC program, as it offers all of the benefits that make movie-going great at AMC Theatres,” said Adam Aron, CEO and President, AMC Theatres. “AMC Stubs A-List rewards guests with something that no one else offers: the very best of AMC, including IMAX, Dolby Cinema and RealD 3D up to 3 times per week, for one simple, sustainable price.”

However, there is no carryover from week to week if fewer than 3 movies are seen. But they can even see all three movies on the same day. Just note though that Fathom Events shows, special fan events and some Indian Cinema titles may not be included.

Weekend Box Office: June 22-24, 2018

The dinos reign supreme this weekend at the box office as Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom takes the top spot with $150 million domestically. Not even movie reviewers could keep the audience away as the movie has a Rotten Tomato score of 50% and an audience score of 61%. Overseas Jurassic World has made over $711.5 million and rising as the movie has not opened up in Japan year. So expect to see it hit the billion dollar movie club within a few weeks.

In second place was Disney’s Incredibles 2 with a respectful $80.9 million in its second weekend. While the drop off was 55.7%, the movie has made $350 million domestically and $485 million worldwide so far. I don’t see Disney not coming out with an Incredibles 3 after successful numbers like these.

In third place was Ocean’s 8 with $11.7 million. I doubt it will see Ocean’s 8 in the top five next weekend as the drop off this weekend was 38.6%.

In fourth and fifth place were Tag and Deadpool 2 with $8.2 million and $5.2 million.

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow Actress Courtney Ford Upped To Series Regular For Season 4

Nora Dark is back with a vengeance as actress Courtney Ford been promoted to a series regular on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow for the upcoming fourth season on the CW Network. Last season she was a recurring character who was the evil daughter of the big bad villain Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough).

This is the latest in a series of promotions to the show’s cast for next season. As both Matt Ryan and Jes Macallan have also been upped to series regulars as well. Ford’s has a solid background of credentials that also include Supernatural and True Blood.

What’s going to be more fun to watch next season is that she is the real-life wife of Legends co-star Brandon Routh who plays Ray Palmer aka The Atom on the show. This past season they both fought one another and were each other’s love interests. So it will be curious to see what they do with them in the overall story arc.

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow is based on DC Comic characters and is produced by Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television.

TRAILER: How It Ends

Netflix has released a new trailer for their latest film “How It Ends” starring  Theo James and Academy Award Winner Forest Whitaker. As a mysterious apocalypse causes the spread of misinformation and violence, a man and his estranged father-in-law race across a chaotic and fractured country to save his pregnant wife.

The movie starts streaming on July 13 only on Netflix. This movie looks like an amazing contribution to the “end-of-the-world” movie genre. I am always one for a good apocalypse movie. Movies like “2012” and “San Andreas” were fun and over the top, well worth watching. But “How It Ends” looks like it takes it to a serious level.

Movies like this seem to work well for actor Theo James as he is well remembered for movies like Underworld: Blood Wars, Underworld Awakening, and The Divergent series. While those movies didn’t perform well, his performance is always well remembered.

What’s even more impressive is that of actor and Academy Award Winner Forest Whitaker showing up in this movie. Once again he proves that he is truly a man of his craft as an ex-military man that is only concerned for his daughter.

Facebook Testing Subscription Groups That Charge Money For Exclusive Content

Facebook is looking to test Facebook group subscriptions that charge $4.99 to $29.99 per month for access to exclusive content. Only a few hand-picked groups in the parenting, cooking, and organizing industries are getting to try out this new feature.

Facebook said “We hear from group admins that they’re looking for ways to help them earn money to deepen engagement with their members and continue to support their communities. Many admins do this today by creating an additional subscribers-only group that sits alongside their existing group and rely on additional tools to track and collect payments.”

They go on to say “Subscription groups were created to make it easier for admins to provide these experiences with built-in tools, and to save them time so they can focus on offering members-only content. For members, they’re now able to sign-up and manage their subscription through the Facebook app for iOS and Android.”

As someone who is a digital marketing consultant for small businesses during the day, this feature, if done right, can be a huge game changer for small businesses that use Facebook on a daily basis. Really now it’s all about content creation and is it worth your customer’s time and money. But will see where Facebook will take this feature.
