TRAILER: Mary, Queen Of Scots

Talk about a royal rumble for the ages. The 2017 Academy Award nominees Saoirse Ronan and Margot Robbie face off as two of history’s most compelling queens in the new trailer Mary, Queen Of Scots from Focus Features.

Beau Willimon, the creator of House of Cards, wrote the script based on John Guy’s acclaimed biography “My Heart is My Own: The Life of Mary, Queen of Scots.” The movie explores Mary Stuart (Ronan). Queen of France at 16 and widowed at 18, Mary defies pressure to remarry. Instead, she returns to her native Scotland to reclaim her rightful throne. But Scotland and England fall under the rule of the compelling Elizabeth I (Robbie).

The supporting cast includes David Tennant, Guy Pearce, Martin Compston, and Brendan Coyle. This is also the directorial debut for Josie Rourke. The movie opens nationally on December 7.
